Larissa: Cal Poly Pomona Graduation Portraits
It’s spring, which means grad photos season!
Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) features a huge campus with many great locations for grad photos. I’ve done many grad sessions here but I find new spots every time! Larissa’s graduation portraits features all of my favorite locations at Cal Poly Pomona and shows why I like grad sessions here. This session had a little bit of everything: casual and formal outfits, school spirit, lots of confetti, and an impromptu couples session. It was a memorable one! :)
We started our session at the CBA building, located on the north side of CPP, by the Rose Garden. The College of Business Administration building was a new addition to CPP in 2012 and its unique architecture, canopies of trees, and amazing afternoon light makes it one of the best spots of photos at Cal Poly Pomona! We made sure to shoot at the CBA sign in front, an essential location to shoot for all business majors. The concrete stairs and stone walls of CBA might not look impressive at first glance, but they always turn out great in photos! Before leaving, we had an impromptu couples’ session in the courtyard, to document the time Larissa and her boyfriend spent together on campus :)
Up next was the Cal Poly Pomona’s famous CLA Building. Photos with CLA”s iconic top is a must for every CPP graduate!
The light at the Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, and around CLA at golden hour is always great, and I time my sessions to catch sunset. I love how the golden light brings out the greenery of Cal Poly!
Finally, we made our made our way back to the CBA building for confetti photos. Larissa brought balloons and three different types of confetti for her grad portraits, which was awesome! I have a list of confetti recommendations, ask me about the best confetti products for your university when planning your grad session. These are some of my favorite confetti photos ever!
